Hardy Reef: Part of the Great Barrier Reef		Australia's most famous natural wonder, the Great Barrier Reef is as big as the total combined area of the United Kingdom and Ireland, and contains more than 1,000 islands, from sandy cays to rainforest isles. The Great Barrier Reef has a delicate reef ecosystem that evolved over hundreds of thousands of years, and gave life to more than 6,600 species and plants and beasts. It's still home to endangered species including the endangered green loggerhead turtle, and is a breeding site for humpback whales. In 1981, UNESCO added the Great Barrier Reef to the World Heritage list. Visitors who are based at one of the seaside towns on the Queensland coast can take day cruise to explore the reef, reach coral sites by air, water taxi to scuba dive or snorkel for intimate reef views.

Mission Beach: Ideal Beach Resort		Mission Beach is a relaxed, yet vibrant stretch of Queensland coastline with over 14 kilometres of magnificent golden sandy beaches. There are actually four villages that are collectively known as Mission Beach: South Mission Beach, Wongaling Beach, North Mission Beach, Bingil Bay. Here two World Heritage areas, The Great Barrier Reef and Wet Tropics Rainforest, come together to form a tropical paradise. In many places, the rainforest literally fringes stretches of pristine golden beach, giving the destination reputation as an ideal natural holiday choice. Less than 5 kilometres offshore, Dunk Island and Bedarra Island make up an aquatic playground that is renowned along the east coast of Queensland. The Great Barrier Reef is only 38 kilometres away making Mission Beach the closest mainland access to the Reef, just an hour or so by boat. The Edmund Kennedy walking track at the southern end of the beach is part beach, mangrove and rainforest. Several creeks empty their waters at Mission Beach and locals can often be found fishing for barramundi and mangrove jacks. Visitors may also catch a glimpse of the endangered Southern Cassowary bird in the rainforest around Mission Beach.

5th day: Whitsundays-Airlie Beach

Tropical Paradise: Whitehaven Beach at the Whitsundays		The Whitsundays describes 74 tropical islands and the Queensland mainland coast from Mackay to Townsville - the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. The days are long and the climate is warm all year around, with an average temperature of 27.4 degrees Celsius (80 degrees Fahrenheit). The coastal centre is Airlie Beach, a cosmopolitan village that offers a good base to access the islands, entertainment, community markets, and regular jazz at the local club. From Airlie, visitors can explore the islands by sailing boat, take a reef trip, dive, snorkel, swim, fish; take a long trek in the lush rainforests, or admire coral through a glass-bottomed boat. Most of the islands in the Whitsundays are uninhabited and many are national parks - only seven islands hold hotel resorts. From July to September, visitors may catch glimpses of humpback whales on their annual pilgrimage.

7th day:

Historic Building in Rockhampton		Rockhampton, the Beef Capital of Australia is located on the Tropic of Capricorn. Founded in 1853, the majesty of Rockhampton's historical architecture has captured the hearts of visitors for decades. Many fine public and private buildings, including the Customs House, old Post Office, Cathedrals, banks, business houses and homes, are constant reminders of the city with an exciting background. Rising out of Rockhampton's north-eastern suburbs, Mt Archer National Park provides magnificent views of the city, and showcases a spectacular range of native Australian flora and fauna. Frazer Park at the summit of Mt Archer is approximately 604 meters above sea level. Rockhampton Heritage Village is an active township museum where visitors can experience Rockhampton's rich and colourful history. There is also the Dreamtime Cultural Centre, set in some 30 acres of natural bushland on Ancient Tribal Sites. Just north of Rockhampton are Capricorn Caverns, magnificent limestone caves, Great Keppel Island and Yeppoon. Great Keppel Island is a popular island to visitors and is accessible by a 30-minute ferry ride. Two ferry services operate daily out of Keppel Bay Marina and Rosslyn Bay. Yeppoon is the Capricorn Coast's major town, which has retained its village style appeal, yet offers a variety of wonderful restaurants, accommodation and shops.

9th day: Fraser-Hervey Bay

Hervey Bay: Famous for its Whale-Watching		Bordered by 40 kilometres of pristine beaches, Hervey Bay is one of Queensland's best natural holiday destinations offering convenient access to World Heritage listed Fraser Island - the largest sand island in the world, and Lady Elliot Island - the first coral cay on the Great Barrier Reef. Hervey Bay is Australia's whale watch capital. Between August and November whales can be sighted breaching and playfully chasing each other in the warm waters off shore. Visitors can choose an aerial tour or take one of the many day-long or half day whale watch cruises, which depart from Urangan Boat harbour daily during the season. From Hervey Bay escorted tours to Fraser Island depart daily or self-drive packages are available with a flight or barge crossing option. 10th day: Fraser-Hervey Bay

		Day Trip to Fraser Island (included in package price, listed under 'Extras') The day starts at the ferry terminal in Hervey Bay. After a 45-minute ferry crossing to Fraser Island, the tour continues in a comfortable 4WD bus, designed to offer the best possible ride to observe Fraser's untamed wilderness, dramatic dunes, sub-tropical rainforests and crystal clear freshwater lakes. Participants can enjoy the informative commentary from a fully-trained guides as they share their expert local knowledge of the region. After visiting the Maheno shipwreck, participants can swim in the pristine waters of Eli creek, enjoy a tranquil rainforest walk through Yidney Scrub amidst towering satinays and kauri pines, and observe the abundant wildlife and different varieties of birds this island sustains. Morning Tea and a light lunch are provided during the day. The tour finishes at the Hervey Bay ferry terminal just before dinner time.

11th day: Brisbane
