Freycinet NP

 
   
Freycinet National Park is situated on a peninsula of the east coast of Tasmania, is crowded with forests, wildflowers (including orchids) and native wildlife, it is an area of indescribable beauty. The visitor to Tasmania is generally drawn to Australia’s only island state by either its pristine wilderness areas, the easy lifestyle close to Nature is an added attraction. The Park also includes the separates Friendly Beaches and Schouten Island.

The towering walls of pink and grey granite, patched in orange lichen, soar straight out of the water. Wineglass Bay is famous for its perfect curve of white sand, and the blue sea. Freycinet National Park offers a multi-day circuit featuring granite sea crags, coastal bushland, beach-side camping and clean, blue-green water.

Along Tasmania's warm east coast, Freycinet is accessible by sealed roads. You're welcome to visit for a few hours or a few days. On Freycinet you will find yourself walking or climbing in friendly natural surroundings. The Visitor Center and nearby Coles Bay supplies most facilities and conveniences. Activities include scenic drives, short strolls, medium and overnight bush walks, visiting natural features, seeing wildlife at close quarters, birdwatching, mountain biking, boating, kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving, swimming, fishing, climbing, camping and photography.
