Hi Jerry,
First let me thank you for putting together one of the most memorable trips of my life.
Everything, and I do mean everything, was perfect. The hotels were top notch. The directions
were striaght forward.
The German people were extremely helpful. We almost bought non-alocholic beer but an alert store owner pointed out our mistake. The Kölsch was one of the better beers I've ever had.
Believe it or not I especially enjoyed the dark breads.
Again, thank you for your "personal" touch.

Dear Jerry,
WOW! What a fantastically beautiful country you live in! It surpassed all my dreams! I'm so glad that it was my first trip to Europe, it was the absolute BEST! You did an awesome job with the car and the HOTELS! They were exactly what I was wanting and the hotel in Pfronten had a view that was priceless. Every hotel went without a hitch, they for the most part knew who we were before we told them our names. Impeccable treatment and the breakfasts were delicious. Didn't realize that the Germans liked smoked fish the way they do! Loved the country, it was so picturesque, just like the books.
Only negative drawback that I would say about the whole trip was the directions, trying to read the signs in Deutsch and getting directions from citizens who spoke no English. We were blessedly upgraded to a car in Cologne that had a GPS. THAT IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY! Would never recommend anything less! Driving would have been frustrating and loss of a lot of time without it!
The cathedral in Köln is breathtaking, magnificent and beyond words. To see that every day like you do must never get old.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, for making my trip to Germany the dream that I had a reality.

We had the best time ever. It was so nice to meet Jerry, personally in Cologne to start off our trip with a tour of the city. The places we stayed in were magnificant. Top, first class accomadations in each location. I know you had nothing to do with the weather but, it too was perfect. Hats off to your company. Keep up the great work.

It was a fantastic trip, and we attribute a large part of the success to excellent planning and execution by Umfulana!
I got to know to know about Umfulana from casual surfing on the internet, looking for an organisation that could help me plan a holiday in Germany, a task that I found to daunting to do on my own. Dr Jerry Crippen was very helpful and enthusiastic from the start, right from answering the first email enquiry that I sent from the Umfulana website. Every email enquiry was promptly attended to and the accomodation and transport arrangements were truly customised to our needs for a comfortable and seamless trip. My husband and I were initially sceptical that such complicated tour arrangements could be made purely through communication with a single travel agent through the internet, but the plans came through marvellously and with pomp!
We visited Berlin, Munich, Rothenburg and Heidelberg.
Accomodation in Berlin, Munich and Heidelberg was excellent. The hotel in Rothenburg was also very quaint and cosy. The hotels were all in excellent locations, esp. the hotel in Munich. Its proximity to the underground train station was very convenient indeed. Jerry was right that public transport in Munich was very convenient and we got round mainly via the underground train system. While we were in Munich, Jerry recommended that we take a trip to Neuschwanstein Castle with the tour company "Munich Direct". I would like to thank Jerry for the excellent recommendation: Valerie Black from Munich Direct was an excellent tour guide, and the method of travelling by train and public bus was a nice change from the usual sleepy long-distanced coach ride. The trip from Berlin to Munich via the ICE (in first class) was excellent and constituted a very nice interlude during our holiday.
All in all, we had a very good holiday and will like to thank Umfulana and Jerry Crippen. We will certainly recommend your organisation to our friends and family! |

Dear Merwin Rabe & the rest of the Umfalana Team
Thank you once again for your efforts in booking of this tour of Botswana & Namibia. After the tour of 2 years ago we were wondering if we would be as excited & thrilled this time. It was just brilliant all we could have asked for and more. From arriving at Kanana Camp and being told of elephants that come into the camp to eat the Marulla fruit, then seeing them walk through behind our tent, to being woken up at 2am by Hippo's eating, grunting only 2mtr. away. From the camps to the lodges we have only one complaint Sarasunga after Divava what a difference. Divava luxury and Sarusunga very basic, this was the only low point on the trip. The people at Sarasunga were great but the accommodation was not.
The people of Botswana & Namibia were great everywhere we cannot thank them enough for making our trip so good. The animals played there part as well, the only shortfall was Rhino's & Lions but they are wild and can roam at will. The thousands of seal at Cape Cross, with their noise and smell memories now. We only managed to take about 600 pictures plus 2hrs.of video in the month we were away. So many we will not be able to bore our friends or can we.
Again the highlight of our trip was the Africat Foundation at Okonjima here instead of us upgrading ourselves as we did 2 years ago they upgraded us this time to their Villa what a place to end our holiday it is fantastic. Our own chef Martin, butler Juso, tour guide Johann, his wife Anya and last but not least the two Simons to look after us. We could not believe such a lovely place was our to enjoy. I could write a lot more about our wonderful tour but we will be going back again soon. |
