| Germany has a continental climate. During the summer months temperatures usually range between 22-30° C (72-86° F). Winter temperatures tend to be colder in eastern Germany than western Germany, but roughly average around 3° C (37° F) at the height of winter in January. Below freezing temperatures can be expected in the mountainous areas, of course. The weather is cool and damp in the spring and fall. Rainfall is generally heavy throughout the year, so travellers should be prepared. |
