Sampling local specialities is an important part of travelling in any foreign country, of course, and Germany is no exception. German cuisine varies considerably by region, so visitors can enjoy a selection of local dishes at each stop on their tour of Germany. The choice of beverage is also important: every region and even certain cities in Germany have a special variety of beer which they are convinced is superior to all the others. While the country is more famous for its beer than its wine, the excellent products of the Rheingau and Mosel regions should not be neglected.
The texts below are intended to provide a brief overview of German cuisine in preparation of your Germany vacation. |
