A peaceful farmhouse in the moors near Kolmacolm
A peaceful farmhouse in the moors near Kolmacolm

Accommodation: A farmhouse near Kilmacolm
The present structure was built 30 years ago on the foundation of an 18th century farmhouse. The quiet property is surrounded by farmland and is close to Muirshiel Country Park, a reserve that protects a relatively unknown section of the western coast and the bordering moors. One wouldn't suspect that this serene place is close to both the Glasgow airport (approx. 20 min.) and Prestwick airport (approx. 45 min.). Guests will appreciate the comfortable rooms and abundant breakfast.

Country cottage in a remote setting
Country cottage in a remote setting

Accommodation: A country cottage
The first thing guests notice about this cottage south of Fort William is its idyllic setting on the shore of Loch Baile Mhic Chailen, with panoramic views across the hills of Glen Etive to the distant mountains of Glencoe. Glen Creran, made famous by Robert Louis Stevenson's "Kidnapped", is sufficiently remote to ensure peace and tranquillity, yet remains the ideal place from which to explore this part of Scotland. Whether guests are interested in history, castles, distilleries, wildlife or scenery, or just relaxing with a book, this peaceful environment offers something for everyone. The Western Isles, Oban, Fort William, Perth and Inverness are all within reach for day trips. Delicious dinners can be served upon request, followed by coffee in front of a log fire - the perfect place to plan the next day's activities.
