| The places we stayed in the Yorkshire Dales (with Pamela) and in the Lake Distirct (with David) were the highlight of our trip. The houses and their gardens were beautiful, and our hosts made us feel very welcome. Each provided us with their recommendations of things to do, and were gracious and easy to talk to. Could not have been better. |

| Dear Jerry, we enjoyed the tour of Scotland you planned for us and we thank you. The place near Glasgow was so interesting and the hosts love to socialize with their guests at the end of the day. The property is 500 acres and beautiful. The castle near Minard was excellent. Skye was my favourite...first class all the way. You should book for dinner as the chef is fantastic. Also the place is a surprise at the end of a 2 mile sheep path. Great hike behind the place. The B&B in Oban has great hosts and we loved their suggestions for touring around. The accommodation at Loch Ness is well run and has great hosts. They also have good suggestions for touring around. The B&B at Loch Lomond is a work in progress...nice couple with a lifetime of projects on the house. |

Jerry, sorry for my delay in responding to your email. After returning from the trip I went right back to work.
The Scotland adventure was great. Your choice of B&B's was perfect. CNN forecast had 5 of 8 days with rain but in fact only the first day had isolated showers with one day of windy cool weather. My friend needed to recover from a wedding in Rio so took a day to rest. All of the families were great hosts. Visiting with other guests over breakfast makes the B&B experience my favorite for visits to Europe.
Thanks again, Forrest and Patty |

Dear Jerry,
Sorry this is slow in coming. We are still on the road and right this minute in Hong Kong airport en route to Australia.
The trip around England was fabulous and we would thoroughly recommend it. All of the hosts were extremely informative and spent plenty of time helping us with directions and the best sights etc. Even though we were just tourists we felt quite special and extremely well looked after. Our favourite three spots were at Dacre, Golden Grove in Wales and the Lakes District. We felt that we were able to get off the beaten track and see more than what the average sightseer would see thanks to the help of the B&B owners.
All of our rooms were beautifully furnished, spacious and extremely comfortable. And I also particularly enjoyed the gardens of all of the venues. The countryside and the B&B's were something I will never forget.
The acommodation in London was good but not special. It was in an excellent location and I understand that London is a particularly pricey city. I think in hindsight I might have stayed at another B&B perhaps a bit out and taken public transport in.
All in all we had a fabulous time and felt that our stay in England was the highlight of our trip (even ahead of visiting family in Boston and 9 days in Paris (we rented a flat there which was excellent accommodation but we missed the friendliness and the help from the English bb owners).
Thanks again for all of your assistance and I hope this feedback helps you.
Regards
Sarah Frith |

Umfalana made reservations for us for two nights each at three different locations. They were in Edinburgh and the Loch Lomond area of Scotland and the Lake District of England. We also had them reserve an automobile for us for six days.
The B&Bs they scheduled were all beyond our expectations both in comfort and the hospitality of the owners. They truly went out of their way to help ensure that our short visits would be enjoyable and comfortable. The accommodations in Edinburgh and the Lake District were in historical homes that had been parts of noble land holdings and we felt as though were were sleeping with history.
The auto was comfortable, practically new, and a bargain. Driving on the narrow roads and on the left posed a challenge at times but we and our Peugot survived without a scratch on any of us.
The reservation process through Umfalana was smooth, easy, and effective. We had no problems with arrangements during any part of the trip. If only Umfalana could have controlled the rainy weather a bit but that would be asking too much. |
