Italy Tour: Anonymous: San Francisco Bay Area, USA

Dear Umfulana,

We were impressed by your diligence in maintaining contact with us, and your overall professionalism. We could never have found a few of the marvelous destinations you mapped out for us. For one, the villa at Lake Garda was heaven on earth. The room was beautiful, antique-filled with all of the modern conveniences along with a magnificent view. The owner and host, Raphaela, was a congenial and fascinating and we enjoyed our meals there on the veranda.

Our next destination at Lake Como was not as nice. The restaurant was superb with our room overlooking stunning Lake Como. I think that after the villa it was harder to be in just an ordinary room.
The residence in Monforte d'Alba was also beyond words, though I will try for a few adjectives here: elegant, wonderful service, exquisite, charming. We regretted we had to leave. We would definitely return to the residence and the villa.

We liked the Abbadia and the town of Moneglia, but were rained out of Cinque Terre, unfortunately.

We will surely use your agency again, we have a major recommendation for you. We found your driving instructions inaccurate and incomplete. May I suggest that you use google maps for better driving instructions? [Remark by Umfulana: There are plans for improving the driving instructions next year.)

Thank you. We had a marvelous trip.

My husband and I just returned from a 10 day driving tour of Italy and Austria set up by your company, and we couldn't be happier with the tour set up by Sandra.

Our trip went so smoothly from the moment we arrived in Venice until the moment we left from Venice 10 days later. We arrived, and our rental car was waiting, and even better, we received a free upgrade to a brand new Mercedes with only 3 km .
From there, we drove to Gardone Riviera and the lovely Dimora Bolsone B&B. Rafael and the B&B were superior. From there, we headed to Schloss Korb. The area was lovely, and the only negative was, we were really hoping to stay right in the castle, but rather, we were in the Residence located directly behind the castle. The rooms were nice, clean and at least we had a great view of the castle.
We then headed to Pieve di Cadore and the Belvedere Hotel. The hotel was located right behind the town square. The room was large, clean and offered free indoor parking which was a plus.
Then, we went to Parkhotel Tristacharsee in Lienz, which was amazing. It is an awesome hotel located right on the lake. The rooms were clean, great balcony, and even better, the food was superb.

We ended our trip in Venice at the Locande de Leon. The location was great- right behind Piazzo San Marco. The climb to the room was an adventure, but the staff was very helpful.

My husband and I are thrilled with the itinerary Sandra set up, and we are already planning our next trip to Italy, and will definitely be using Umfalana again. The hotels picked were all special, and ones that we would have never been able to find on our own. I am not sure how many Americans use your travel agency, but we would highly recommend your company to anyone!

Italy Tour: Susan A.

Hi Sylvia,
Our trip was fantastic. We loved all our accommodations, and appreciated having parking at place. Each was unique in its own way. The Abbey was so special. We decided if we go again we would stay there again. It's close enough to the trains and yet is nestled in a quiet little town along the coast.(The trail is still washed out in Cinque Terre and that was a huge disappointment for us). The winery in Verona was a special surprise. I have to say we were doubtful about going to Bologna and Verona but loved both stops. (The drive from CinqueTerre took us 6 hours not four as suggested)You might look into Dozza as a side trip from Bologna and include it as a place for a day trip. Our stay outside Bologna was restful but a bit too far from restaurants for us. Argegeno was perfect, the food was wonderful, but quite expensive .All the places were especially clean and all the help was extremely friendly and helpful. The car worked out well. I might suggest you encourage your clients to bring a GPS. This saved us hours.
Everything worked out like clockwork. Please feel free to use us as a reference anytime.

Dear Jessica...

We are in Italy for another 10-11 days...

We have had a great trip so far. The three hotels we stayed at in Paris, Rome and Venice were fantastic! All three were perfectly located, very comfortable, and clean. The staff in Paris and Rome were extremely helpful. We only had two days in Venice, so we used that staff very sparingly.

We really couldn't have been happier with the whole experience...from dealing with you (and all of the changes we put you through), to our stays at the three properties.

Thank you for all of your has been a truly memorable vacation for all of us.

Thanks from the six of us...

Best regards...

Hi Martin,
It is Lori West replying to your email. We had a wonderful time while on our tour.

Each of the accommodations was very lovely and no problems with check in. The Inns and B&B's were not something we would have found on our own. The service was wonderful and the breakfasts were very good, especially the pastry. I definitely know what you meant though about trying to fit too much into such a short period of time. I'm sure another Europe trip will be in order in the next few years.

Thank you for your help with our itinerary. We definitely would not have found these accommodations on our own. The Villa in Oggebbio was quite a unique experience. We definitely felt like we were in the heart of a quaint northern Italian village. A great experience, though the drive up the village road was a little hair-raising.
