This centuries-old building is located in the city centre, between the Spanish steps and the Via Veneto. Marco and Guilia, the enterprising proprietors who have roots in the hotel business, have completely restored the property and now offer modern, comfortable accommodation in a historical building. Marco can suggest the best sites to see - he is an accredited Rome tour guide. The building offers many practical conveniences. An elevator takes guests to the air-conditioned rooms on the three upper stories. The upstairs suites have a view extending over the roofs of the old city to the dome of St Peters. You're guaranteed a good night's rest here (a valuable commodity in Rome), as the guesthouse is next door to a convent!

3rd day: Florence

		Travel from Rome to Florence by rail Distance 270 km Travel time: approx. 2:00 h more ... You will travel through the regions of Lazio and Tuscany.Prices for a 2nd class seat start at around € 110. Trains from Florence to Rome leave every hour. Unless otherwise requested, Umfulana will book a train that departs late in the morning.

The B&B is located on the top floor of a 19th residence in downtown Florence. The Duomo, the Piazza Della Segnoria, the Galeria de la Academia and most other sites are within easy walking distance. The air-conditioned rooms have been thoroughly renovated and modernized, yet the antique furniture and quaint four-poster beds help preserve the historical ambiance. The bathrooms feature marble furnishings mined in the hills of Liguria. Guests can relax in the parlor or on the rooftop terrace, which commands a striking panoramic view of Old Florence. 5th day: Milan

		Travel from Florence to Milan by rail Distance 300 km Travel time: approx. 2:45 h more ... After crossing the picturesque Apennine Mountains the route will follow the Po Valley, where some of the most important cities in northern Italy are located: Bologna, Modena and Parma.Prices for a 2nd class seat start at around € 35. The attractive B&B on the first floor of a palazzo is situated in the heart of Milan. Each of the three bedrooms has a specific colour scheme and décor. Breakfast is served in the rooms, which are located along the main corridor and feature large windows facing the Piazza Ticolore. The furniture is a subtle mix of antique and contemporary designs. Guests have access to a shared kitchen, where they can make coffee and prepare small snacks as agreed with the host. The Cathedral, the Scala and the Castle are all within walking distance.

7th day: Venice
