South Africa Tour: Felix en Marianne Bruijning

Dear Merwin,

Again we absolutely enjoyed the itinerary you booked for us.

Woodall Country House and Addo were again fantastic.
And so were The Fernery in Tsitsikamma National Park and Moontide Guest House in Wilderness.
We also enjoyed the accommodation in Oudtshoorn, especially since the staff was very friendly and hospitable. The room was nice as well, but unfortunately there was no privacy at all on the terrace. And since we had company next door of 6 motor-bikers that was a pity.

At Grootbos Nature Reserve we were upgraded (they told us a couple of times) to the Forrest Lodge.
We were a tiny bit disappointed, since it is quite expensive (but maybe our expectations were to high). The staff was friendly but a bit aloof. The room was absolutely impressive but the only thing you could do on the sun-deck was indeed: sunbathing, since there were only two large deck-chairs and a tiny parasol. No easy chair for reading, no shadow to find at all and not covered, so when it rained we had to sit inside.

Even so we had a lovely time and we will certainly make an appeal to you again in the future.

Baaie dankie, ons het dit baaie geniet!

Best Regards,
Felix and Marianne Bruijning

South Africa Tour: Felix and Marianne Bruijning

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip through Limpopo. For us there were not too many game-parks in the Itinerary, but then, we did not do all the offered game drives. On travel days we did not go on a game drive at all and after “Naka Sanga” we also skipped the early morning drives. This worked out fine for us, elderly people as we are. But we enjoyed the ones we did enormously and have seen quite a lot of game, Lots of lions, elephants, rhino’s, hypo’s, giraffes and all the other “ordinary” game, but also very special ones, like the brown hyena and a pack of wild dogs.
We believe the Peermont Hotel is fine for a one night stay only, when you arrive after 3 PM and leave again early the next day. At all the other accommodations, each very special in their own way, we were received with a very warm welcome by a very friendly and hospitable staff. We would not have missed out on one of them, or on one of the Game Parks.
Absolute highlights were: the Lodge in the Soutpansberg, the Lodge in Naka Sanga and in Madikwe Game Reserve. But we also very much enjoyed our stay in Pretoria, Polokwane, the Lodge in Pilanusberg and in Magaliesburg.

Thanks Merwin, for a wonderfull and very interesting Itinerary.

South Africa Tour: Edwin Matiuk

Dear Merwin,
Having travelled with you before, our expectations were very high indeed, and as it was, this trip exceeded what we expected. To state the obvious here, it's quite clear that when you travel in a country such as SA, safe and siutable accommodations are adamently necessary. You cannot rely on finding something while you're travelling, and finding something on the web is too fortuitous. This is where Umfulana shines, one accommodation was better than the other. The standard is high by any standard. We did enquire about how Umfulana found the places and one owner stated that Umfulana are the only travel agency, who had their people actually check out the facilities in person and it shows.
The trip was delightful and flawless, thank you.
It's probably not too early to commence discussions on your adriatic and Sicily tours for May, 2011. They look quite interesting, and if SA is any guide, we should be happy with yor choice of accommodation. We hope we can pursuade the Beatties to come with us again.
Cheers
Edwin

I would like to thank Umfulana and our tour organiser Merwin for the most amazing experience of our lives. Everything ran perfectly to plan and the advice you gave was extremely helpful.
We especially loved our time in Kruger National Park, in the Lower Sabie Camp. It was perfectly placed on the Sabie River, where we got to experience all the big 5 within the first day. I would also highly recommend a trip to the Kysna Elephant Park and the Cango Wildlife Range if you would like to get up close and personal with the animals as well.
We both found it extremely hard to leave South Africa and will definitely be planning another trip in the future.
Thank you again for everything, we will definitely be recommending this trip to all our friends.

South Africa Tour: Vivien Tait

This was our 3rd trip arranged by Umfulana and was once again perfect. We had one small misunderstanding with the accommodation at Ithala though. Our itinerary had quoted self-catering facilities available, but the hut they wanted to put us in, did not have this. It was one of the conference huts, very close to the others, nowhere to sit outside and definitely not what we expected or had last time we stayed at Ithala in 2004. However, after some discussion between the lodge manager and Umfulana, this was straightened out and we were given a fantastic private lodge. Apart from that everything went very smoothly – the distances and times were very accurate and all accommodations were super and lived up to our expectations. Our next trip to South Africa will certainly be arranged by Umfulana again. They are the BEST!
