Kauri-Villa in Auckland Devonport: cosy & quiet

Kauri Villa in Devonport
The charming villa, built from precious kauri tree timber, is situated in Devonport close to Cheltenham Beach, one of Auckland' best inner city beaches. The two guest rooms are a good size, featuring the odd antique, leadlight windows, fresh flowers and yummy Devonport chocolates. Host Christine, from Yorkshire originally, used to teach cookery and has owned a café. Her husband Pari is a Maori of Ngati Ruakawa Ngati Koriki and Ati Awa descent, a true blue Kiwi with a wealth of New Zealand knowledge. There is a beautiful walk on the waterfront to reach the village of Devonport, which has an excellent range of cafés, restaurants, galleries and shops and a ferry terminal.
