The Garden Route stretches from Mossel Bay in the Western Cape all the way to Storms River in the Eastern Cape. The spectacular region with its wonderful coastal scenery, mild climate, indigenous forests and lakes, and winding rivers makes this unique part of South Africa a true paradise, especially for golfers. The Garden Route was voted the number one golfing destination in 2006 for Africa and the Middle East.

Accommodation: Fancourt Hotel
Fancourt in the heart of the Garden route is more than just a fashionable address. It is one of the most remarkable hotels of the world. Ernie Els made it his second home and comments: " The golf course and overall facilities rate as S.A.'s best". Restrained luxury and the classical layout around the historic manor house characterize this hotel.

Fancourt - Outeniqua Course
means 'Man with an abundance of Honey' and, while it is uncertain as to how the mountain range which broods over Fancourt's "second" facility acquired this name, a round of golf on the layout so named is indeed the sweetest of treats. Feature holes are the par-three 7th; played from an elevated tee to a table green; and the 17th, a fine example of a risk-reward par five where the green- seeking second shot must attempt to carry a lake.

Club tee Length: 5981m
Holes: 18
Par: 72
Current SA Ranking: 16
Designer: Gary Player
Hire possibilities: Golf carts, golf clubs and caddies compulsory
Practice Facilities: warm-up area
Handicap: proof of Handicap or certificate necessary
Dress code: smart casual or accepted golf attire
Shoes: Soft spikes only
Pro shop, Bar, Halfway house available
The fees for caddies excludes approx. R15 for half way and R10 for the Caddy Foundation - payable at the Pro Shop before your game) A recommended tip of R20 - R40 is optional.

George Golf Club
Nesteld away in the foothills of the magnificent Outeniqua mountain range on the Garden Route, you will find the beautiful natural parkland known as George Golf Club. It has a large dam and thick bush on the left of the fairway, and the fairway feeds towards these hazards.

Club tee Length: 5777m
Holes: 18
Par: 72
Current SA Ranking: 11
Designer: Charles Molteno Murry, upgraded by Phillip Basson 1993
Hire possibilities: Golf carts, pull carts, golf clubs and caddies

Pezula Golf Course
Some Golfers declare this to be the most visually pleasing golf experience in South Africa. The area is covered with beautiful varieties of fynbos, which strongly resembles Scottish heather.
