		The coast south of Durban is dotted with holiday resorts that are very popular among South African holidaymakers. The beaches are well suited for bathing. All beaches have shark nets and lifeguards. Sugarcane, bananas, mangoes, and paw paws are cultivated on farms in the immediate hilly interior. The Oribi Gorge, a 24 km long majestic deep ravine with tropical jungle and the meandering Umzimkulu River, is situated close to Port Shepstone.

Castle Rock near Lusikisiki		The Wild Coast is part of the former Transkei, a homeland created by the apartheid regime for the Xhosa. The Transkei was reunited with the rest of South Africa after the abolishment of apartheid. The effects of separation can still be observed today, as there was little industry or farming in this part of the country during the apartheid era. As a result, the Wild Coast has some of the most isolated beaches in South Africa. With steep cliffs, large boulders and waterfalls with drops of up to 100 m, the coast is especially rugged to the north, where it was shaped by extreme wind and weather.

The club house		Durban Country Club Beachwood This course is part of Durban Country Club, situated parallel to the indian ocean. It is a very good test of golf skills with a relatively narrow design. The corse was built by Percy Gilbert Stiebel in indigenous woodland around a mangrove swamp, a narrow barrier between the Indian Ocean and houses that flow along a ridge overlooking the sea. It was considered an ideal location for a golf course at the time. Thanks to the Country Club, the mangrove swamp has been preserved as one of the last of its kind on the KwaZulu-Natal coast.
