Plettenberg Bay is situated on the Garden Route. It is known to have some of the best beaches for swimming in South Africa. The town lies high above the ocean with a stunning view. Spectacular reefs are found close to the shore and attract divers from far and wide. You can go diving, on boat tours or do sea kayaking. Fishing is also very popular in this area.
The Plettenberg Bay peninsula is a protected area. Archaeological finds have revealed that Homo sapiens lived in caves on the peninsula more than 100,000 years ago.
