2nd day: Andermatt

		Travel by rail from Zurich to Andermatt Distance: 120 km Travel time: 2:00 h more ... The trip will take you high up into the Uri Mountains to the north end of the St. Gotthard Pass at Göschenen. You can either switch to a local train for the 7 km stretch from Göschenen to Andermatt or take a taxi.Prices for a 2nd class seat start at around € 28. The hotel is situated near the historical Devil's Bridge on what for centuries was the main trading route across the Alps. Since completion of the Gotthard Road Tunnel in 1980, however, it has grown nearly as quiet in these parts as it was when Goethe stayed in Andermatt on his way to Italy over 200 years ago. The wood-panelled bedrooms in the friendly Swiss hotel are bright and comfortable. Regional specialities such as Urner Rösti are served in the in-house restaurant. After a fire destroyed much of the property a few years ago, it was rebuilt in the traditional Swiss style.

4th day: Zermatt

		Travel by rail from Andermatt to Zermatt Distance: 100 km Travel time: 3:00 h more ... You will take the scenic Glacier Express, the famous Alpine train line that connects Zermatt and St. Moritz. The complete trip from end to end passes through nearly 100 tunnels and crosses about 300 bridges. Although called an "express", the train actually travels very slowly, requiring over 7 hours for the entire 270 km stretch.Prices for a 2nd class seat start at around € 40.
