The former Duchy reached from the gentle landscapes around Lake Geneva and the Lac d'Annency up to the snow-covered peaks of Mont Blanc (4810 m). Its rich history has left many traces. In addition an excellent gastronomy makes the region of contrasts attractive not only during the ski season, but also in summer. Countless trails present phenomenal views of the white giant whose glacier cover is up to 28 m thick. The less active traveller can take a variety of tours – around Lac d'Annency or through the Mont Blanc Tunnel and across the Great St. Bernard Pass.
