Germany Tour: Dr. Elizabeth Pittman

We had an excellent trip. We were blown away by the civic pride that was in evidence everywhere, so well organised, flowers in every town square and the window boxes. Schloss at Kronberg was where Ian was taken to dinner more than 40 years ago, found Ipofen a delightful little town, Maria Laach Abbey also stands out as a great example of the Benedict Orders entreprenurial skills as well as a wonderful church. Our next favourites were Lindau and the visit to the convent on one of the other islands, followed by the visit to the excellent medical history museum on the way to Munich.
The drivers were great blokes, all different personalities and very good drivers.
Our only disappointments were not finding fields of wildflowers which I had imagined would be around Calw and that some of the abbeys we planned to visit were closed – Ascension day!
Ian's photography is really fanastic – we will send you a DVD in a couple of weeks
Best regards
Elizabeth
