Italy Tour: Margaret Dzierzanowski

We just returned from a 2 week trip in Italy. I have travelled extensively before and have to say this was probably the most enjoyable trip abroad I have ever had. Jerry Crippen, our travel agent, did an outstanding job selecting B&B's for us, getting our rental car squared away and providing us with excellent maps and information.

Our first stop was Venice, where we stayed at a quaint B&B. They spoke excellent English and the little hidden garden patio was delightful. A wonderful place to have a quiet breakfast or an evening drink. It was a great first stop. It was very close to everything.

We left Venice, made our way to Avis and rented a car. We had to upgrade because we packed heavily. But it was no problem. Jerry had reserved an english speaking GPS unit, that we nicknamed Kate. Kate saved us from a million arguments and became our best friend.

Our second stop was outside of Siena in a little mountainside village called Viagniole. Jerry had reserved rooms for us at Dievole. WOW!! There are simply not enough words to describe this location. It was perhaps one of the most beautiful settings and wonderful hotels I have ever been in. We may very well decide to have our wedding there. It was literally breath taking and we all but cried when we had to leave.

Third stop was in Positano on the Amalfi coast. It's a little hard to get to (read crazy winding roads) and you go through perhaps one of the ugliest areas before you get there (new Pompeii and Napoli) but then you drive through this tunnel and poof! BEAUTIFUL. Just like that. Positano is insanely built into the granite cliffs. It is awe inspiring. The hotel we were at was half way up the cliff. It had a stunning view and it got our calf muscles in shape walking the steps down to the beach. They were very gracious and parked our car and carried our multi ton luggage up to our rooms. That was a life saver!

Finally we made our way to Rome. Here we had decided to make our own arrangements. This worked out ok but it could have gone very badly. In the future we would stick with Jerry's recommendations.

Overall Umfulana and Jerry Crippen made this literally a vacation of a lifetime. We are much richer for having experienced Italy the way we did.

I STRONGLY STRONGLY recommend this agency and will use them from here on out for our travel arrangements!!!
