Italy Tour: Nigel Parry

Hi Jerry,

Home safe and sound in the early hours this am.
First: We had a wonderful trip and Loved Sicily. We were very pleased with the service we have had from Umfalana and were also pleased to meet a number of your clients (fellow guests and the hoteliers) who were all very complimentary. With the exception of Taormina we loved all the places you had chosen – they met our needs well and were comfortable and the food/wine was good. All the arrangements were trouble free, and when we did have a problem in Taormina you responded immediately.

Specific comments Hotels/B & B

Erice: Convenient, easy to find, comfy room, good food/service.
Very nice swimming pool. No language problems someone spoke French German or English.

Agrigento: Very pleasant hosts Sergio and Chiara. The house was fascinating full of nooks and crannies. Really good breakfast – dinner good as well. Hosts spoke good English. The Valley of the Temples was wonderful, but the road from Agrigento to Mose was overdeveloped – we were glad our accommodation was on the hill away from the town. We had 2 nights here and would have liked a third.

Enna: Fabulous location The manor house was very interesting and “Rosita” was a real character her enthusiasm/energy and hospitality were quite overwhelming. We communicated in French. Her breakfast was really excellent. The rooms and pool were wonderful – we could have spent much longer here.

Cefalu: You suggested to us that this would be the highlight of our trip – and it was. Sebastiano and Theresa's son Luca seems to do the bulk of the work both around the farm and of entertaining the guests. His English is excellent, and he is very knowledgeable about Sicily, its people, history culture food wine etc. Of course Sebastiano and Theresa were always around and contributed to the conversations at dinner.
This is a very special place which blends excellent food and wine with interesting and varied conversation into the early hours every night.
